The Georgia chapter, founded in 1915, is one of the oldest and largest Lambda Chi chapters in the nation having initiated over 2,200 members. Prominent Georgia Lambda Chi's include NFL Hall of Famer Charlie Trippi, former Georgia Governor Joe Frank Harris, current U.S. Representative Jack Kingston, former Georgia Secretary of State Lewis Massey, current Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp, and Lady Antebellum frontman Charles Kelley.  Alumni David Burch formerly served on the board of national fraternity’s Educational Foundation.

In 1952, Lambda Chi moved to its current location on Milledge Avenue in Athens from the Judge Lumpkin House on Prince Avenue to be closer to other UGA sororities and fraternities. The house can accommodate approximately 50 men. The mission of Lambda Chi Alpha is to offer the best fraternal experience, focusing on personal character development though leadership, scholarship, community service and positive social experiences.
